Learn to sail with Fastack South Solent Sailing School. Get qualified to charter a yacht anywhere in the world!
The Day Skipper practical training course is designed for intermediate level sailors, teaching skills that will enable you to skipper and charter yachts on the Solent or other fabulous cruising grounds worldwide! During this sailing course you will discover the pleasures and pitfalls of taking command.
You will have control of the yacht for short passages during which time your instructor will be on hand to offer advice and encouragement, and to ensure that your destination is reached safely. The essential element is that you experience being in charge, taking the credit when all goes well and learning how to improve when things don't go as well. The end of each day is spent around the chart discussing the passages and gaining from each other’s experiences.
The location: You’ll be learning in the UK’s ultimate sailing destination, the Solent, home of the renowned Cowes Week, Round the Island and Fastnet regattas and fringed by the spectacular Jurassic Coast. Regular overnight anchorages and marinas include Gosport, Hythe, Lymington, Hamble, Southampton, Beaulieu, Portsmouth and Poole on the mainland and Cowes, Newtown Creek and Yarmouth on the scenic Isle of Wight.
